Susan Lynn Morrisey
1965-2026
Susan Lynn Morrisey, 61, of Riverside-Albert passed
away peacefully on July 4th, 2026 with her family by her side, after a
courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Riverside-Albert, NB, on
February, 8th, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and
Audrey (Capson) Wilson.
Susan never took much time for
herself. She worked at Rock's View Variety and the Alma General Store,
where she enjoyed visiting with customers and catching up on the
latest happenings around the community. She dedicated 29 years to
Forest Dale Home Inc., serving wherever she was needed. Whether she
was in resident care, housekeeping, or the maintenance department, she
did whatever job was asked of her. She showed up, did what needed to
be done, and remained in the maintenance department until her
retirement.
It was the simple things in life that
brought her happiness. In her younger years, she loved camping with
her family. Later in life, she was content with a cross-stitch
project, a cup of coffee, and a cigarette while enjoying the comfort
of home.
Above all else, family was the center
of Susan's world. They always came before herself. Her daughter,
Melissa, was her greatest pride and joy, and Susan worked tirelessly
to make sure she had everything she needed and more. She also loved
keeping up with her nieces and nephews and looked forward to hearing
about their lives. Every family gathering was filled with laughter,
playful teasing, and good-natured jokes, something Susan was always
happy to be a part of.
Retirement brought its share of
challenges. After being diagnosed with cancer, Susan faced it with
remarkable courage and determination. She rarely complained or let on
how she was truly feeling, simply answering, "I'm fine."
Through those difficult times, she was deeply grateful for the
unwavering love and support of her family, especially her nieces,
Wendy and Shelly, who were always there whenever she needed them.
Their kindness, devotion, and constant presence were a source of great
comfort, and Susan considered them one of life's greatest
blessings.
"Home, family, laughter, and
love, that is a life well lived."
She will be deeply missed by her
husband, Michael Morrisey of Hillsborough; daughter, Melissa Morrisey
of Riverside-Albert; sister, Lana Wilson of Alma; brother, Greg Wilson
(Heather) of Shepody; brother-in-law Leslie Kennie of Shepody; her
special nieces, Wendy and Shelly as well as several other nieces and
nephews. She will also be missed by all her extended family and
friends.
Besides her parents she was
predeceased by her infant son, Ryan; sister, Ruth Kennie; brothers,
Reginald and Carl Wilson (Joanne); brother-in-law, Peter
Edgett.
The family would like to take this
opportunity to express their appreciation and gratitude to the
extra-mural staff, the staff of the Albert County Community Health
Center and to Dr. Richard Morcom for the guidance, support, and
compassion shown to Susan in her final days, it will never be
forgotten.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her
life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, July
12th, 2026 at 2:00pm with Pastor Quincy Arbeau officiating. Visitation
will take place one hour prior to the service from 1-2pm. A private
