Philip Gregory "Greg" Milburn

1957-2026

Philip Gregory "Greg" Milburn

Philip Gregory "Greg" Milburn, 69, of Cape Station, NB, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at home on July 3, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Woodworth Settlement on February 16, 1957, the son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Colpitts) Milburn.

Greg was never one to sit still. If you asked his family, they would tell you that working wasn't just a job, it was one of his favourite pastimes. He spent 30 years as a meat cutter with Hub Meat Packers, where he made many lifelong friendships and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.

In 2011, Greg and Trina set off on a new adventure when a work opportunity took them to Sylvan Lake and Red Deer, Alberta.  He became a technician at the Coca-Cola bottling plant, and was in his element, installing and repairing pop systems. While out west, he and Trina made many wonderful memories exploring the beauty of Alberta together. As much as they enjoyed those years, Albert County was always home. In 2021, they returned to the place they loved most, grateful to once again be surrounded by family.

Greg was a true Albert County outdoorsman.  Whether he was fishing, hunting, target practicing with his compound bow, or simply enjoying the fresh air, that's where he found peace. Hunting was one of his greatest passions taking him on adventures across Canada, and when his family drew a New Brunswick moose licence, Greg didn't need much convincing to make the trip home from Alberta. He also had a soft spot for animals, especially his loyal and protective dog, Karma. She was more than a pet, she was his faithful companion. Greg made sure she was well loved and often spoiled her with ice cream and bags of cheesies.

Anyone who knew Greg knew he loved a good laugh. He had a quick wit, a great sense of humour, and could always find something to smile about. He was also known for speaking his mind. You never had to wonder where you stood with Greg. He was honest, genuine, and never afraid to say what needed to be said, and those who knew him respected him for it.

Above all else, Greg was a family man. He shared 46 wonderful years with the love of his life, Trina. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering support for one another. He was a proud father to Vanessa and Karrie and took every opportunity to be present in their lives. His greatest gift was being called Papa. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Nothing made his day more than spending time with them, celebrating their accomplishments, sharing stories, and watching them grow into the wonderful young people they are today. There was nothing Greg wouldn't do for his family, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did.

Greg's life wasn't measured by what he owned, but by the people he loved, the work he took pride in, and the countless moments he spent doing what brought him joy. His legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Trina (Wilson) of Cape Station; his daughters, Vanessa Milburn (Shawn) of Hopewell Hill and Karrie Gauvin (Shane) of Riverside-Albert; his cherished grandchildren, Olivia (Cody), Garrett, Jacob (Maellie), Gabby (Rhyse), and Cameron (Jaxson); his brother, Sheldon Milburn (Trish) of Hillsborough; his sister, Marilyn Wells (Gerald) of Hopewell Hill; along with several nieces and nephews, the Wilson family, and his friends.

A Celebration of Greg's Life will be held at Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Branscombe officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., an hour prior to the service.
