Weston "Wes" Beaumont
1941-2026
Weston "Wes" Beaumont, 84, of Hillsborough, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his niece and her family, exactly where he wanted to be. He was born in Albert Mines on July 13, 1941, the son of the late West Beaumont and Evelyn (Milton) Cooke.
Wes was truly a jack of all trades. Throughout his life, he worked in a variety of jobs while living between Ontario and New Brunswick. His final career was in logistics, a role that suited his practical nature and strong work ethic.
A lover of the outdoors, Wes was happiest when he was fishing, camping, and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. He treasured his solitude and often found contentment deep in the woods, surrounded by nothing more than wildlife, a campfire, and a nearby brook. Those simple moments brought him great joy. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and was never more at peace than when he was immersed in it.
Since he was a young man, Wes had a passion for building model cars. Over the years, he crafted hundreds of them, each one carefully assembled with patience, precision, and attention to even the smallest detail. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and could always be found cheering on his favourite driver, Jeff Gordon and the iconic No. 24 car.
While Wes valued his independence and quiet time, the people closest to his heart were his niece, Stacy, along with Rene and Kenadee. They welcomed him into their home six years ago and became an important part of his daily life. With love, kindness, and unwavering dedication, they ensured he was comfortable and cared for, making sure all of his needs were met. Most importantly, they fulfilled his final wish to remain at home, surrounded by those he loved, enjoying the beautiful view he cherished so much.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Extra-Mural nurses and doctors, as well as the home care workers, whose kindness, compassion, and support made it possible for Wes to remain at home. Their care went above and beyond, and the family will always be grateful for the comfort they provided during his final journey.
Wes is survived by his children, Weston Jr., Joanne, Glen, Kelly, and Heather, all of Ontario. He will be deeply missed by Stacy, Rene, and Kenadee; his aunt, Glendine (Jerry); his sister-in-law, Lana Cooke and her son Jeff and family; his niece, Cindy Gallant (Steve) as well as many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Wes was predeceased by his sisters, Ada Cooke, Faye Tower (Gerald) and Sharon Hawkes and by his brothers, Byron Cooke and Robert "Bob" Cooke and nephew, Jerry Tower.
Honouring Wes’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
For those who wish, donations in Wes’s memory may be made to Green Hill Cemetery and would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H 3K2 (506) 734-2780.
