Jason Troy Steeves

1971-2026

Jason Troy Steeves

Jason Troy Steeves, 54, of Dawson Settlement passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2026 at the Moncton Hospital with his loved ones by his side.  Jason was born in Mississauga,Ontario on April 23,1971 the son of the late Gerard and Jackeline (Jonah) Steeves.

Jason worked at several jobs over the years and was a jack of all trades. He was great at doing  renovations, working on roofs and decks. He enjoyed sports and was known for cheering his favorite football and hockey teams on the tv.   He was known to be determined or some would say stubborn.  He was always a witty man, even until the end. Never did a day go by that Jason didn’t crack a joke or two. We are sure he loved his boys and his family. He had a great relationship with his step-children.   He treasured times with Samantha and Eric.  He has left us all too soon but the good memories will help get us through.  So as you move on, live your life to the fullest. He had a great sense of humour and laughed a lot over the years.  Remember his sheepish grin when he was up to something or coming out with a smart remark.

He will be deeply missed by his girlfriend, Tina Read;  step-children, Samantha and Eric (His beloved cats Morgan and Snowball) of Dawson Settlement; his boys, Jonah and Jacob of ON; sister, Kelley Nelson (Rob) of ON; niece Ashley and nephew Jesse; great nieces, Mackenzie and Taylor; uncle Danny Jonah (Nancy) of Hillsborough; aunts, Joanne Price of Hillsborough and Peggy Milton-LeBlanc (Aurelle) of Riverview.  He will also be missed by the mother of his boys, Jackie of ON; several cousins and by all his extended family and friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Leon and Evelyn Jonah; and paternal grandparents, Marven and Erma Steeves; Tina's parents, Loyall and Carol Read who he had a special bond with; aunts, Audrey Snelgrove (Ralph) and Darlene Blakney (Bob); uncles Tom Price and Darrell Milton.

There will be a Graveside Service at the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough on Monday, June 29th, 2026 at 2:00pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.
