Alice Mae Milburn

1923-2025

Alice Mae Milburn Alice Mae Milburn
Alice Milburn of The Grass Home in Riverview, formerly of Hillsborough, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on August 22nd, 2025, after a brief illness.  She was born on May 4th, 1923 in Mountville, NB, the daughter of the late Arthur and Julia (Dixson) Hudson.

Alice was a devoted Christian; Service was a foundational pillar of her life.  Whether residing in Lower Cape, Albert Mines, Moncton, Dalhousie, Saint John or Campbellton,  Alice was always actively involved in the Ministry of music.  In her younger years, she regularly sang in a quartet featuring her dad, brother and sister.  When she and husband George moved back home to Hillsboroughfor the final time in 1964, Alice promptly formed ayouth choir, then lead the church senior choir.  She helped on the piano and organ, and by the mid 80's formed a choir of seniors called the Silver Chords.

She met and married the love of her life, George Milburn and started a family in 1943.  They had awonderful life together spanning 45 years, full of laughter,  pranks, and good times.  Alice carried George's memory as long as she lived.  She was a wonderful mother, aunt, grandmother and friend.

Alice witnessed a lot of change over her 102 plus years.  She was young at heart and was never afraid to try new things....right up to the end.  She was a woman of grace, humility and integrity.  Always curious, Alice had a sincere interest in others, coupled with a warm, positive attitude.  She exercised those qualities every day, positively impacting all whom she met.  Alice taught through example, and was a true inspiration. Proverbs 31:25 "She is clothed with strength and honor, and she can laugh at the time to come". This verse succinctly describes Alice, who embodied strength, wisdom, and inner peace, allowing her to face the future with promise and confidence.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Darrel (Gayle) of Shediac Bridge, Steve of Hillsborough, Paul (Bernita) of Keswick Ridge and by her treasured grandsons and great grandchildren.  Also sister Dawn Jarvis of St. Andrews; sister-in-law, Pam Hudson of Ontario; and  brother-in-law, Keith Milburn (Marilyn) of Riverview. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
Besides her parents and step mother, Viola Hudson(Spence),she was predeceased by her husband, George Milburn; infant daughter, Sally Dawn Milburn; brothers, Carmen Hudson, and Vernon Hudson (Joyce);   Brothers-in-law, Grenville Milburn (Jean), Arnold Milburn (Joanne), Willard Milburn(Nina), and sister in law Minerva Steeves(Roy).

The family would like to say a very special THANK YOU to the Grass Home who made Alice's last years so enjoyable and special.  Also, to the Moncton Hospital staff for all the care and kindness shown.
