Carol Jean MacPhee
1948-2025
Carol Jean MacPhee, 76, of Moncton and formerly of
Hillsborough passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2025 at the Albert
House Hospice with her loving family by her side. Carol was
born in Moncton, NB, on December 10th, 1948 the daughter of the late
James Henry and Virginia Dora (Wilson) Stannard.
She will be deeply missed by the love of her life of 55
years, husband Ed MacPhee; her one and only treasured daughter, Linda
King (Stephen) of Riverview; her precious granddaughters, Marlee and
Allison; sister, Brenda Douthwright of Moncton and brother, Tom
Stannard (Libby) of Salem. She will also be missed by her
in-laws, extended family, several nieces, nephews
and friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant
brother, Paul and brother, James Stannard Jr.
Carol's first priority was being a homemaker when
her family was young. She later worked outside the
home at Caledonia Regional High in the cafeteria where she
got to know several students. She worked at the
Salem & Hillsborough Railway. She cleaned
for many people, and was well known for leaving things spotless and
establishing a great reputation in her community. She
enjoyed playing cards, dice and yahtzee but her main passion
was going to Yard Sales and Flea Markets. Her and Ed spent
numerous hours looking for their treasures on their many
trips all over Albert County, Sussex, Shediac and even as far
as Maine. She was thrilled when her daughter, Linda, met and married
Stephen, he truly was a son to her. Then her
granddaughters, Marlee and Allison came and they
were her world. She was so fortunate to be able to keep the
girls when they were young and made so many memories, Nano was the
best! Carol was the heart of the family and she was
there for anything they needed. She had a smile that
brightened any room she entered. Her attributes were always
unselfish, understanding, influential and inspiring.
"We were so lucky to have you in our lives, you will live in our
hearts forever."
Carol felt so blessed for the care that Ed gave her over
the past couple of years, he was a dedicated caretaker and she
appreciated it so much. She was also so grateful to have
Linda, Stephen, Marlee and Alli be there for her as they all cared for
her unconditionally with love all throughout her
illness.
Special thanks to the long term workers,
especially Buddhi, who helped care for Carol with
great kindness and grace. To Dr. C. Redona for all your help
and support. To the Albert House Hospice thank you for
making Carol's last days comfortable and for such overwhelming
