Danny Gregory Steeves

1956-2024

Danny Gregory Steeves

Danny Gregory Steeves, 67, of Salem passed away on February 7th, 2024, at his home.  Danny was born in Moncton on March 9th, 1956, the son of Norval and Sheila (Graves) Steeves.

Danny worked for CN until his retirement at 55.  He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church, where he was baptized at a young age.

He enjoyed being outdoors, snowmobiling, walking in the woods and 4 wheeling.  He really enjoyed time at the Sugar Camp making Syrup.  He especially looked forward to the "Sugar Off", when many friends and family would gather for the afternoon and evening activities.

He had a love of muscle cars with many stories revolving around his Green ’69 Swinger.  He excelled at Steel Fabrication.  Projects included building his plow truck, wood splitters, trailers, and his sawmill.

Danny was rarely seen without his faithful companion and best friend, Buddy.  After his passing, Billie Jean helped fill that void.  He would travel the back roads, listening to Neil Diamond, singing along like he knew all the words.  Stopping to visit anyone who left their lights on.

He was very generous, helping neighbors with snow removal and leaving them treats of maple syrup.

It is evident that his granddaughters held a huge piece of his heart and were his pride and joy.

Danny’s features and work ethic will carry on through his 2 boys, Nathan, and Evan.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, Norval & Sheila of Hillsborough; his sons, Nathan (Brittney) of Albert Mines and Evan (Katie) of Hillsborough; brother, Reg Steeves (Velda) of Salem; sister, Angela Wright (Donnie) of Midgic; his grandchildren, Casey, Lexi, and Izzy.  He will also be missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He is predeceased by his brother, Scott, sister-in-law, Ellen, and his best friend Buddy.

We sincerely appreciate his friends and family who took the time to visit, drop off food and check in on Dad.

The family will be having a casual get together to celebrate Danny’s life at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday evening, Feb 12th, 2024, from 6-8 pm.  Danny’s infamous attire of sweatpants is acceptable.  Interment will be at the Shenstone Cemetery, Shenstone beside his brother, Scott at a later date.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salem Baptist Church, or the Shenstone Cemetery would be appreciated.

Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2 506-734-2780
