Hazel Elizabeth Dixon

1948-2022

Hazel Elizabeth Dixon

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear and much loved mother, Hazel Elizabeth Dixon, 74 of Riverview, NB and formerly of Waterside, NB on November 12th, 2022.

Hazel was born in Riverside, NB on October 26, 1948 the daughter of the late Carl and Bernadean (Snider) Anderson.

Hazel proudly worked at Fundy National Park for 39 years as a Visitor Service Attendant. She was the first friendly beautiful face to welcome guests to the park. Hazel left a lasting and memorable impression upon everyone that crossed her path. She made many fond memories with visitors from all over the world and she was always there for the local campers as well. She was very personable which endeared her to everyone she met. She raised her family in Waterside where many great memories were made. Hazel made the family home warm, cozy and comfortable where everyone was welcomed! It seemed to be everyone's happy place and the destination spot for many! Definitely a little piece of heaven, God's country where it was calm, cool and peaceful. Hazel was like a second Mom to many in the community. She was always willing to listen, give advice and leave you with her signature bear hug which left you feeling comforted and loved. She was a wonderful, loving mom and grandmother who dearly loved and cherished any time she was able to spend and make memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her life and she was so proud of all of them. She never missed an opportunity to brag about them to all her friends and anyone she met. Hazel was kind, charitable, caring, curious, kind, honest, sarcastic, witty, loved to laugh and definitely outspoken at times giving guidance whether asked for or not, but did so out of concern and love. She loved going for drives through all the back roads and all around the local area.
Hazel loved music and attended all the music nights around and especially enjoyed listening to  the Rocky Cape Band and Heartland whenever she got the chance. When we think of Hazel we think of a woman that had a great sense of humour and loved life.
"When there is love and memory our loved ones never really go away."

She will be deeply and forever missed by her daughters, Charlene Dixon of Dartmouth, NS, Christine Holman (Raj) of Lower Sackville, NS; sons, Carl Dixon (Teri) of BC and Craig Dixon of Sussex, NB; step daughter Betty Dearing (Dave) of ON; sister, Eleanor Bowron (Chris) of Alma; her grandchildren, Amanda, Tara, Jake, Dustin, Jesse, Lee and Wyatt; step-grandchildren Micheal, Stephanie and Alyssa; Great-grandchildren, Lainey Mae, Henley and Harrison. She will also be missed by numerous friends and all her extended family, The Dixon's and by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Morton "Sonny" Dixon.

There will be a celebration of her life and funeral service at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26th, 2022 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating.  Interment will be in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, NB.
