Hazel Ina Steeves

1926-2022

Hazel Ina Steeves

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear and much loved mother, Hazel Ina Steeves, 96, at Lakeview Manor, Riverview, NB, formerly of Stoney Creek, NB, on November 13th, 2022.

Stoney Creek was her happy place and she loved all the memories she made raising her family, she made a house a home. She loved to bake, the kitchen always smelled of fresh bread or cookies. Mom loved to sing and it was usual to hear her singing whenever she was working around. Mom's happy disposition will be remembered by all who knew her. She had a passion for sewing and was a talented seamstress, she made beautiful clothing and could mend anything. She enjoyed drives in the country , especially in the spring with all the trees starting to fill with leaves. She also enjoyed time spent in her flower garden. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dogs.

Mom was a woman of committed, Christian faith. It is with certainty she is now, in her heavenly home, with all those whom she loved. She was an angel in disguise and taught us what love is and we were so blessed to have her as our mom.

Mom is survived by her daughters, Brenda Morris of Riverview, NB, and Sandra Blakney (Charles) of Moncton, NB; her son, Craig Steeves (Noella Kelly) of Stoney Creek, NB. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Kyle Blakney of Minneapolis, MN., Erin St-Cyr (Pierre) of Sylvan Lake, AB and Scott Blakney (Amanda) of Calgary, AB.

Mom was blessed with four great- grandchildren, Ava and Andrew Morris of Summerside, PE and Jack and Cora Blakney of Calgary, AB

Mom was the last surviving member of her family. Apart from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Waldo A. R. Steeves of Stoney Creek; brothers, Arthur, George, and Paul, along with; her sisters, Dorothy Pelton, Eva Halliday, and Hilda Frizzell. She was also predeceased by her much loved grandson, Ryan Morris of Summerside, PE as well as many special family members and friends.

In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at 2:00pm with Rev. Doug Steeves officiating. Mom was a member of the Stoney Creek Baptist Church and in her memory, donations to the church or any charity of your choosing would be appreciated by the family.

A private family interment will be held in Wilmot Cemetery, Lower Coverdale, NB at a later date.

A special note of appreciation to the entire staff of Lakeview Manor who so lovingly provided such professional and personal care to our dear mother.
