Irma Anne Copp

1950-2021

Irma Anne Copp

Irma Anne Copp, 71, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Hillsborough passed away on October 18th, 2021 at the Forest Dale Home after a struggle with Dementia.

Irma was born in Dawson Settlement on July 8th, 1950 the daughter of the late Ernest Steeves and Anne (Hopper) Steeves-Mellish.

Irma was a stay at home mom and her family was her world.  She took the role of wife, mother and grandmother very seriously and gave it everything she had.  Irma was a kind soul and she cared deeply for all those who were in her life.  Irma's pride and joy were her children and then her grandchildren came along and her heart was overflowing with love.  Irma was not only their mom and grandmother but their best friend and support whenever needed.  She was an amazing cook,  known for her rolls and pizza by all the kids who grew up in the community and had the privilege of being in Irma's home.  Many of her children's friends loved being around Irma as she made everyone feel so comfortable and was sincere in wanting the best for them all.  She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for her family to treasure, she loved bingo, she also had a love of gardening and would walk around her flower beds dozens of times a day in the summer.   She had a special place in her heart for animals and this was a real family trait as they all love animals.

"Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of all our needs.  Today and tomorrow, our whole lives through, we will always love and cherish you."

She will be deeply missed by her mother, Anne Mellish (James) of Moncton; her beloved husband, George "Reid" Copp; her cherished children, Tad Copp (Tammy Brantnall), Bonnie Akerley (Terry),  and Shane Copp (Melissa Simpson) all of Hillsborough and by her precious grandchildren, Tessa Terris (Tony), Tyler Copp and Justin Copp; great-grandson, Huxley ; special uncle, Robert Hopper (Anne) of Windsor, NS; cousins, Bryce and Gail Copp and longtime friend Carol Locke.

She is also survived by her sisters Christine Steeves of Hillsborough, Sally Steeves of BC; brothers, Douglas Steeves (Gwen) and Danny Steeves (Bonnie) both of Weldon and by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her father she was predeceased by an infant son, George and by her grandparents, Ozro and Mildred Hopper.
