Glendon Cyril Cook

1951-2021

Glendon Cyril Cook
Glendon Cyril Cook, 70, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2021 at the nursing home.
Glendon was born in Oshawa, Ontario on March 28, 1951 the son of the late Cyril and Shirley (Simpson) Cook.

Glendon was a hard worker and worked as a carman for CN and in the Engineering Office. After CN, he went to work for Proceco in Montreal for 15 years. Later he moved to Hillsborough to be close to his family and started work at the Hillsborough Irving where he was known to many and would always greet everyone with a warm welcome and a great smile. He had a passion for reading and this gave him knowledge about many things, he was a great man to play Trivial Pursuit as he knew most of the answers. He started travelling and has travelled to Africa, Korea, Poland, Hawaii and all over the world. His thought was , you will never understand the true meaning of your life, until you travel and experience how others are living theirs. He was a member of the Hillsborough United Church and attended faithfully when he was able and appreciated all the kindness he was shown there. Glendon also had a passion for photography and took many pictures. He was very close to his mother and sisters and cherished the time he got to spend with them and especially the past years of his mother's life. He was also an awesome uncle. He reconnected with Shelby the love of his life and the two depended on each other and he was so grateful for the wonderful care she gave him, he felt so fortunate to have her back in his life. They enjoyed travelling together and also liked the quirky things in life like their love of the Muppets. " Life is not just the passing of time. Life is the collection of experiences and their intensity." His legacy will live on forever in our hearts.

He will be deeply missed by his sister, Heather Crossman of Hillsborough; nieces, Tina-Marie (Chris), Tanya, Sharon (Ed), Rhonda (Duane), Lisa (Paul) and nephew, David (Ami). He will also be missed by special friend Shelby; all his extended family and friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Darlene Crew; brother-in-law, Larry Crossman.
