John Edward Corney

1951-2018

John Edward Corney
John Edward Corney, 67, of Stoney Creek, NB passed away unexpectedly at the Moncton City Hospital on August 27th, 2018 with his family by his side.

John was born in Riverside-Albert, NB on March 5th, 1951, the son of the late John and Mabel (Boyles) Corney.

He was working as a tractor trailer driver for Armour.  He loved the ocean and got the chance to be a lighthouse keeper which was an opportunity of a lifetime that he cherished.  He enjoyed being outdoors and especially his beautiful Albert County, he was definitely an Albert County boy.  He loved camping, bird watching, woodworking, antique cars and going to the car races.  John had a great sense of humour and was known for his teasing and was quick to join in conversation with a funny remark.  His family was the most important thing to him. He was a beloved husband, dad and grandad.  He thought the world of his children and grandchildren, they were his pride and joy.  He would light up whenever they were around.  John felt blessed to have met Kim, although it was later on in his life, it brought him true happiness and they did everything together.  He would want you to remember the happy times, think of him and smile.  His legacy of love will live on forever.

He will be deeply missed by the love of his life and best friend, Kim (Barkhouse) Corney; daughters, Angela Sharf (Andre) of BC and Amanda Bishop (Edgar) of Hopewell Cape; step-children, Shelley Allain (Serge), Sarah Barkhouse, Michael Barkhouse all of Moncton; his precious grandchildren, Jarrett, Mackenzie, Daniel, Rylee, Christopher, Madison, Matthew, Jennifer, Liam, Logan and Owen; and by one  great grandchild; twin brother, Gerald Corney (Cheryl) of Hillsborough; Gary Collins (Brenda) of Germantown; Elizabeth Collins of Riverside-Albert.  He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and all his extended family.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Joyce, Alda and Lorene.

The family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Albert County Funeral Home for a time of sharing memories on Thursday evening from 7-9pm.  A Celebration of his life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, August 31st, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev. Barbara Haire officiating.
