Aletha Geraldine Jonah
1921-2014
Aletha Geraldine Jonah, 93, of Hillsborough passed
away peacefully on December 12th, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital with
her loving family by her side.
Aletha was born in Hillsborough on May 25th, 1921, the
daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Steeves) Irving. Aletha was a
housewife and loved every minute of raising her family. Her family was
definitely her main priority. She was a devoted and caring wife,
mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the
Hillsborough Baptist Church and sang with the Silver Chords Choir. She
was a member of the Hillsborough Women's Institute and a life member
of the WMS at the Weldon Church. Aletha was the type of lady if you
needed anything she was there. Her family felt so blessed to have her.
Her generous heart , great sense of humor and that big smile will live
with us forever. She would want all her family and friends to think of
all the good memories and all the fun times they all shared together
over the years with gratitude. Her faith was very important to her and
she is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior. We can here her saying
now, "So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away those tears,
remember I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this
year."
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Sharon
Steeves (Eric) of Hillsborough, Vicki Lane (Pat Eaton) of
Hillsborough, Isabella Cormier (Gary) of Moncton; sons, Laurie Jonah
(Joanne) of BC, Leonard Jonah (Sandy) of Hillsborough, Edward Jonah
(Marsha) of Hillsborough and Paul Jonah (Dennis Fair) of Toronto, ON;
her precious 15 grandchildren and treasured 6 great grandchildren;
brother, Guy Irving (Hazel) of Riverview. She will also be missed by
several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved
husband, Harold Baxter Jonah; sisters, Marion Bray, Frances Hargraves,
Hazel Taylor and Questa Layton; brother, Paul
Irving.
The family will be meeting with relatives and friends
