Joseph Lambert "Bert" O'Connor
Joseph Lambert "Bert" O'Connor age 90, of The Veteran's Health Centre in Moncton and formerly of Harvey, Albert County, NB and Mississauga, Ontario, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2014 at his residence.
 
He was born in Germantown in Albert County on February 3 1924 the son of Herbert and Emily (Melanson) O'Connor. He proudly served in the Canadian Army in both England and Italy during the Second World War.
A watch maker by trade, he travelled across the country from his home in Ontario until his retirement in 1989 at which time he returned to New Brunswick to enjoy fishing, hunting and playing golf.
He was a loving husband, Father and Grandpa who will be missed dearly. Bert will be remembered for his quick wit, great sense of humour and infectious smile.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Ann; son Jonathan (Jill) of Gravenhurst, ON; daughter Suzanne (O’Connor) Siriska (Steve) of Georgetown, ON as well as his 4 grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Renee and Samantha; sisters, Lillian Green of Sussex and Sister Eva O'Connor of Halifax, NS. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews and all his friends and caring staff at the Veteran's Health Centre.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Roderick, Carlton; sisters, Mary, Bernice, Miriam and Zeta. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Riverside Albert.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday evening Oct 14th from 7-9pm, Parish Prayers will be held at the funeral home from 8:30 - 9:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church on October 15th, 2014 at 11:00am. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Following the service the family will be gathering with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments.
 
Immediate Family Flowers Only Please. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Veteran’s Health Centre (Moncton) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
