Greta Ellen Fullerton

1923-2012

Greta Ellen Fullerton
Greta Ellen Fullerton went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31st, she passed away at her home shortly after midnight, she was blessed with having lived 88 good years. She has only struggled with her health over the past year.
Greta was born in  Edgett's Landing, NB on October 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Russell and May G. (Milton) Fullerton. She was an active member of the Albert Mines Baptist Church for over 50 years, having taught Sunday School and doing anything asked of her. She was a veteran of WWII having served in the Air Force, she was stationed in Nfld before the Confederation.  She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion- Branch # 32 Hillsborough and also was very involved with the Legion's Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years as well, a member of the Albert Mines Senior Citizens, Geri- Fitness and the Tuesday Quilting Group. You could say Greta was very dedicated and took an active roll in any group or club she got involved with, she was not one to sit on the side lines. She took up golfing and scrap booking in her 70's and enjoyed doing these activities with her nieces. You could always count on Greta for every community event, there were not very many wedding or baby showers, birthdays or celebrations she missed. Greta was a pillar of the community and they just don't make them like her anymore, she may not of had any children of her own but she was like a mom to many and she was definitely a very special aunt. Her family was very important to her and she would always put their needs before her own. She will definitely be remembered for her kindness, sweet smile and good spirit. She will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Freda Murphy of Albert Mines, Audrey Merrill of Riverview and Patricia Brown (Allison) of Moncton; brother, Terry Fullerton (Betty) of Riverview; brother-in-law, Mac Duffy of Riverview and sisters-in-law, Jean Fullerton of Trail, BC and Linda Fullerton of Hillsborough. She will also be missed by several cherished nieces, nephews and good friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters, Jean. Mildred and Carol; brothers, Gerald and Gerard.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Legion Memorial Service will be held on Friday evening at 6:45pm at the funeral home. The funeral Service will be held at the Albert Mines Baptist Church on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 at 2:00pm with Rev. Jack Allen officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and for refreshments. Interment will be in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough at a later date.
