Nellie Linda Smith, 93, of Autumn Lee Retirement Home passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30th, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family. 
Nellie was born in the USA on January 29, 1917 the daughter of the late William and Etta (Haley) Steeves.  She worked at the Moncton Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for over 22 years until her retirement.  She was a member of the First Hillsborough Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Women's Missionary Society.  Nellie never let her age stop her from anything she loved life and lived it to the fullest.  Nellie loved bowling and was a member of the Riverview Seniors Bowling League up until she was 90.  She also was an avid crib player who would skunk anyone willing to play right up until her last few days.  She was truly a very special lady who will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
 
She will be deeply missed by her children, Richard Smith of Moncton, Linda Geldart (Pastor Leonard) of Hillsborough,John Smith of Toronto, Randall Smith (Margaret) of Riverview and Charles Smith of Moncton; her cherished grandchildren, Darren, Kelly, Patricia, Lisa, Kirk, Tammy and Wade and her treasured 9 great grandchildren.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
 
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Smith and by several brothers and sisters.
 
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm.  The funeral service will be at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday at 2:00pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating.   Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and for refreshments at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB.
 
Donations to the First Hillsborough Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
