Martin Millard Dowe

Martin was born in Apple River, NS on October 20,1941 the son of the late Russell and Annie (Allen) Dowe.

 

Martin worked several jobs over the years , he drove trucks, worked in the woods and enjoyed doing carpentry.    When he was no longer able to work, he had some health issues and made Forest Dale Home his home for the past almost 20 years.  He was a constant in the home where he enjoyed talking and joining in on all the conversations.  He knew everything that was going on and tried to keep up on all the gossip.  Although his mobility was hampered he seemed to get all the news and his phone was always handy to find out what was happening in the community. He felt blessed and was thankful for his sister-in-law, Anne who made sure he was looked after and did all she could for him over the years.  Martin had a love of horses and had many horse pictures on his walls.  He also had a love of pink peppermints and candy.  He is now having a reunion with all his family and friends that has gone before him.  May he rest in peace.

 

He is survived by his children, Kelly Brewster (Kyle) and Corey Dowe both of Riverside-Albert; his brother, Leon Dowe of Hopewell Cape  and special sister-in-law, Anne Dowe of Riverside-Albert.  He was also survived by several nieces, nephews and by all his Forest Dale family.

 

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Ralph;sisters, Coral and Arlene.

 

Honoring Martin's own wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Interment will be in the River View Cemetery, Edgett's Landing, NB where he will be laid to rest beside his parents.
