Michael Joseph Steeves
1939-2020
Michael Joseph Steeves, 81, of Lower Cape passed away peacefully at his home on September 17, 2020 with his treasured granddaughter, Megan, by his side. He felt blessed to have had the support of his entire family during this time.
Mike was born in St. John's Newfoundland on
May 28th, 1939 the son of the late Stanley C. and Margaret
(Ryan) Steeves.
Mike was a truck driver and spent most of his
career with Newcomb Lumber and last worked at T.P. Downey
& Sons before his retirement. He had a passion for
the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved
to keep busy and had a small lumber mill in his backyard. He
liked old cars and enjoyed travelling around in his 1936
Chev. He had a special place in his heart for animals,
especially his little dogs, Teddy, Skip and Rudy. He spoiled every dog
he had with love and affection. He had a great sense of
humour and loved to laugh and tell stories.
He enjoyed teasing and tormenting, all in fun.
He loved his family and has always been there for
them. Whenever anyone needed anything he did what he could
to make sure they were looked after and happy, often putting his own
needs second. He loved his home in Lower Cape and knew
everyone in Albert County as he has lived here his whole life and made
many lifelong connections over the years. He will be
remembered for his contagious smile and twinkle in his
eye.
Afterglow
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the
ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd
like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy
memories that I leave when life is done.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Shari Sorensen
(Jack) of Hillsborough; sons, Mark Steeves of Lower Cape and Craig
Steeves of St. Stephen; daughter-in-law, Donna Steeves of Hopewell

Woodard of Moncton and Debbie Steeves (Fred Irving) of Baltimore;
