Thomas "Tom" Francis Shadbolt
1949-2020
Thomas Francis Shadbolt, 71, of
Riverview passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2020 at the
Moncton Hospital.
He was born in Halifax, NS on February
11, 1949 the son of the late George and Marjorie (Henneberry)
Shadbolt.
Tom worked as a Pension Councillor in
Supply and Services at the Shediac office until his retirement. He was
an avid basketball fan and loved coaching and teaching the game. Never
one to sit on the sidelines he was always ready to lend a hand when
something needed done. This included starting Riverview Minor
Basketball, working on many events for the town and organizing
fundraisers for the Children's Wish Foundation in Shediac. He started
coaching basketball in Riverview and followed that in Hillsborough at
the Caledonia High School for 17 years. He really enjoyed the kids and
they respected him. After retirement Tom found time to indulge his
love of travel. He went on many trips with Sharon all over the world
making many lasting memories that could not be replaced. They
travelled to Scotland, Ireland, Norway, the Caribbean and did many
cruises. Above all things Tom loved his family and would do anything
for them, they were his world. His grandchildren made his life
brighter and he treasured the times they shared, he loved them all so
much. Tom always had a funny story or joke to tell and will be
remembered as a man with a big heart and for his caring ways.
"What we keep in memory is ours forever."
