Brent Lawson Elderkin
1960-2020
Brent Lawson Elderkin, 60, of Riverside-Albert, NB passed away on July 3rd, 2020.
Brent was born in Riverside-Albert
on March 20th, 1960, the son of the late Lawson
Dixon and Margaret (Steeves) Elderkin.
In his earlier years, Brent worked as a lifeguard and
custodian for a military base and also worked for NB Power. He enjoyed
exploring Albert County and spent a lot of his time outdoors hunting,
fishing, and splitting wood. Most of all, he loved to have a good time
with his friends. He would want everyone to remember the
jokes, the laughter and all the good times that were had. "What
we keep in memory is ours
forever."
He is survived by his children, Shane Gauvin (Karrie) of
Riverside-Albert, Danielle Currie Jonah (Chris) of Hillsborough, and
Brian Currie of Alberta; brother, Blake Elderkin of Hopewell
Hill; sisters, Elsie Copp (Lester) and Lynn
Stevens (Ed Piho) both of New Horton; cousins, Deborah
Duff, Susan Harrison and Tracey Ryan. He is also survived by several
nieces and nephews, by his extended family, and
friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step-father
Douglas Elderkin; sister, Brenda Barnes; niece, Jenny Barnes; cousin,
Steven Smith.
Honouring Brent's wishes, there will be no visitation or
funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in the
Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
