Brent Lawson Elderkin

1960-2020

Brent Lawson Elderkin

Brent Lawson Elderkin, 60, of Riverside-Albert, NB passed away on July 3rd, 2020.

Brent was born in Riverside-Albert on March 20th, 1960, the son of the late Lawson Dixon and Margaret (Steeves) Elderkin.

In his earlier years, Brent worked as a lifeguard and custodian for a military base and also worked for NB Power. He enjoyed exploring Albert County and spent a lot of his time outdoors hunting, fishing, and splitting wood. Most of all, he loved to have a good time with his friends.  He would want everyone to remember the jokes, the laughter and all the good times that were had. "What we keep in memory is ours forever."

He is survived by his children, Shane Gauvin (Karrie) of Riverside-Albert, Danielle Currie Jonah (Chris) of Hillsborough, and Brian Currie of Alberta; brother, Blake Elderkin of Hopewell Hill; sisters, Elsie Copp (Lester) and Lynn Stevens (Ed Piho) both of New Horton; cousins, Deborah Duff, Susan Harrison and Tracey Ryan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, by his extended family, and friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step-father Douglas Elderkin; sister, Brenda Barnes; niece, Jenny Barnes; cousin, Steven Smith.

Honouring Brent's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
