Harold Steeves Wilson

1925-2020

Harold Steeves Wilson

Harold Steeves Wilson, 94, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Demoiselle Creek went to be with his Lord and Saviour on February 15th, 2020.  He passed away peacefully at the home with his family by his side.

Harold was born in Demoiselle Creek, Albert County on May 22, 1925 the son of the late Bliss and Bernice (Simmons) Wilson.

Throughout his working years he worked at various lumber mills, Gypsum Company, T. Eaton Company, T.P Downey & Sons and retired from Domtar. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working in the woods, even in his later years he could still keep up with the younger guys.  Harold was small in stature but that didn't stop him as he was very capable and strong.  Harold was a very faithful member of the Albert Mines Baptist Church and was an Honorary Deacon.  He was very dedicated to his church and family.    He and his wife were very proud of the family they raised and felt surrounded by love. He thoroughly enjoyed his weekly outings to the Superstore for the donuts and coffee.  Harold cherished the simple things in life and was very content, he thanked his Lord everyday for all his blessings.  He will be remembered for his gentle smile and kind and generous heart.  His message would be clear, think of the new life I am beginning and not the one that has ended.

Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

He will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 72 years, Eileen; his daughter, Brenda Johnson (Eddie) of Lower Coverdale; sons, Everett Wilson of Lakeside, Randy Wilson of Riverview and Darrin Wilson of Hillsborough; several treasured grandchildren and precious great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jessiman of Moncton and Charlotte Young of Ontario.  He will also be missed by in-laws, Erma and Don Freeman and by all his extended family, nieces, nephews and church family and friends.

He was predeceased by son, Hinson; daughter-in-law, Janet; sisters, Gertrude Rose (John), Helen Wilson; brothers, Carl, Carmen (Ruby) and Reginald (Kate); brothers-in-law, Bob Jessiman and Bill Young.  He is also now being greeted by his precious grandchildren that had gone before him.

Honouring Harold's own wishes there will be no visitation.  A Memorial service and Celebration of his Life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 19th, 2020 at 2:00pm with Rev. Jim Rae officiating.  Interment will be in the Curryville Cemetery, Curryville, NB at a later date.

For those who wish donations to the Albert Mines Baptist Church, Forest Dale Home or Curryville Cemetery would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff of Forest Dale Nursing Home for their exceptional care of Harold during his time there.
