Jennie Knowlton

1930-2020

Jennie Knowlton

Jennie Knowlton, 89, of Lower Coverdale, passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2020, with her loving family by her side.

Jennie was born on June 2nd, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles and Hilda (Hayne) Sprague.

Jennie worked as a ward clerk at the Moncton Hospital for 25 years until she retirement.  She was a member of the Hillsborough United Church and active in the UCW when she was able.  Jennie had a green thumb and was most content outdoors gardening or picking berries and greens.   Anything she got from her garden rarely went to waste and she would happily share with her family and friends.  Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.  She always looked forward to their visits and loved to spoil them.   "The love between a grandmother and grandchild is forever."  Jennie has now been reunited with her beloved husband and is in the care of her Lord and Saviour.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debbie Butland (Burpee) of West River; her treasured grandchildren: Kim Allen (Matthew), Heather Gray (Troy), and Shawn Butland (Mary); her precious great grandchildren: Chad, Kayla, Kyle, Collin, Gracy, and Aydan and treasured great-great grandchildren, Emma, Jaxson and Cameron; her sister, Edythe Kennie of Saint John. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and all her extended family.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Morris; her sister Margaret, and brother, George.
