Lillian Betty Steeves

1932-2019

Lillian Betty Steeves

Lillian Betty Steeves, 87, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2019 at the home with her loving nieces, Kim and Mindy, by her side.

Lillian was born in Saint John on March 20th, 1932 the daughter of the late Addison J. and Jennie Steeves.

The most important thing in Lillian's life was her Faith.  She graduated from the Atlantic Bible Institute and joined Missionary Partner where she went to Columbia and South America to work with the Worldwide Evangelization Crusade.  She was a devoted member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church and attended faithfully when she was able.  She was a lifetime member of the Women's Missionary Society and Hillsborough Women's Institute.  Lillian didn't have any children of her own but was a very special aunt to many nieces and nephews.  She held a very special place in all their hearts and it's true what they say, "an aunt can hug you like a mother, keep secrets like a sister and share love like a friend".  She loved to talk with everyone she met and was known for her great memory and little grin. She has left a lasting impression and will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.  We know she is now hearing those words from her beloved Lord and Saviour,  "Well done my good and faithful servant."

She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Shirley Sloan of Ontario and Mary Boone of Nova Scotia; sisters-in-law, Teresa Steeves of Hillsborough, Thelma Steeves of Moncton, and Mary Steeves of Ontario.  She will also be missed by her treasured nieces, nephews and all her extended family and friends.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by two infant brothers, Hubert and Carey; 4 brothers, Ralph, Ronald, Raymond (Audrey) and Robert; sister, Gertrude Rideout (George) and brother-in-law, Robert Sloan.

She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation an hour prior to the funeral service on Friday from 1:00 til 2:00pm.  The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, December 13th, 2019 at 2:00pm with Rev. Geoff DeJong and Rev. Dean MacDonald.  Interment will be in the Albert Mines Baptist Cemetery, Albert Mines, NB.

Donations to the Hillsborough Baptist Church, Missions, Forest Dale Home Foundation or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Fundy Royal Manor and Forest Dale Home for excellent care given to Lillian while she was there, the kindness shown will never be forgotten.
