Muriel Kathleen Upham
1932-2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Muriel Kathleen Upham, 86, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Hopewell Hill. She passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2019 at the home with her family by her side.
Muriel was born in Prosser Brook on November 2, 1932 the
daughter of the late Murdock and Martha (Geldart)
McKinley.
Muriel was a homemaker and took great pride in raising her
children when they were young. She later worked in the
kitchen at Forest Dale Home. Baking was her passion and she
loved to share her home cooked meals and sweets with
everyone. She was a member of the Hopewell Hill
Women's Institute. She enjoyed going on bus tours with her
best friend, Bernice "Nee-Nee" they always had a lot of
fun. Muriel was the foundation of the family and she was the
one who would hosts all the family gatherings. Her children
and grandchildren meant the world to her. She never missed a
birthday and always made everyone feel special.
She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart and
for her great sense of humour and her contagious laugh.
Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of
beautiful memories.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Brenda Upham
(Dave Alcorn) of Hillsborough and Beverly Devanney of
Riverside-Albert; sons, Fraser Upham (Linda) of Hopewell Hill, Lynn
Upham (Wanda) of Shepody and Greg Upham of Dartmouth; sister, Pearl
Mellish (Waymond Kelly) of Riverview; brothers, Alton McKinley of
Riverside-Albert and Willis McKinley (Verna Carter) of Riverview; her
treasured grandchildren, Shelli (Paul), Trevor (Donna), Heidi (Mike),
Lisa (Jason); her cherished great grandchildren, Bryan, Connor, Gavin,
Jack, Sadie and Zack. She will also be missed by several
nieces and nephews and by several life long friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband,
Vaughn; son Brian; sisters, Georgie Dixon(Roy) and Leona Brantnall
(Newman); brothers, Murdock Jr., Sterling (Thelma), Gerald
"Jake" and half-brother, Hamilton Kane (Georgia) and special
brother-in-law, Bill Mellish; sisters-in-law, Gerry McKinley and Joan
McKinley and great grandson, Rowan.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with
visitation on Tuesday evening from 7-9pm. The funeral
service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday,
July 24th, 2019 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves
officiating. Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery,
Hopewell Hill, NB.
