Dexter Allen Steeves

1932-2019

Dexter Allen Steeves

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dexter Allen Steeves of Hopewell Cape on July 17, 2019.

Dexter was a true Albert County man and knew all the back roads end-to-end. He loved his home and loved to cook, especially turkey dinners for his girls. He loved gardening, antique cars, and old time country music, but his true passion was his granddaughters and cherished great-grandson. He was affectionately known as the Mayor of Hopewell Cape. If anyone needed anything or wanted to know what was going on, they called Dexter. Dexter loved to be around people, which was an asset to his career of "entrepreneurship." He was always ready to make a deal.

Dexter was born in Edgett's Landing, NB on October 24, 1932, the son of the late Clyde and Alice (Beaumont) Steeves. He will be forever missed by his wife Jeannette (Bourassa), daughter Karen Tingley of Moncton, granddaughters Kylie Tingley of Ottawa and Ashley Tingley of Moncton, precious great-grandson Robert, sister Norma Church of Hillsborough, brother Robert Steeves of Lower Coverdale, step daughters Luce, Chantal, and Martine of Quebec, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends, including his special furry friend, Molly.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by sisters, Ada, Margaret, Dorothy, Elizabeth, and Hazel, brothers, Larry, Paul, and Russell, and son-in-law, Glen.

Honoring Dexter's wishes there will be no funeral service, however, the family will meet with friends on Sunday, July 21, 2019 between 2 and 4pm at the Albert County Funeral Home. For those who wish, donations to Extra Mural Driscoll Unit would be appreciated.

At this time, the family would like to extend special thanks to Stephen Land and Andrew Woodworth, as well as all the caring staff of Extra Mural.

Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2  734-2780
