Phyllis Shirley Steeves

Phyllis Shirley Steeves, 83, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2019 at the Moncton City Hospital. 

 

Phyllis was born on May 31st, 1936 the daughter of the late Henry and Hattie (Steeves) Beaumont. 

 

Phyllis worked as a secretary for T. Eatons Company.  In her younger years she attended the Hillsborough Baptist Church.  She enjoyed photography, white roses, and had a love for all animals, especially her cats. She  would quickly take in any strays that showed up at her house and treated them as part of the family.  She is now at peace and where the roses never fade. 

 

She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Allison Steeves of Hillsborough; sister in-law Marietta Goodall of Florida; her nieces, nephews, and cousins; and by her chosen family ; best friend, Mike Steeves of Lower Cape, Gayle Steeves of Hillsborough, Debbie Steeves (Fred Irving) of Baltimore and their family, Wally McLean of Moncton, Allison Macaulay of Hillsborough, Darrel and Terry Petley of NS. 

 

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers in-law Ralph Steeves (Dawn) and Martin Goodall. 

 

Honouring Phyllis' own wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A graveside service will be held at the Grey's Island Cemetery on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:00am for family and close friends. 

 

Donations to CARMA (Cat Rescue) would be greatly appreciated.
