Evelyn (Terris) Steeves, 94, of Fundy Royal Manor, Hillsborough went to be with her Saviour on May 9th, 2019, she passed away at the Dr. Georges L- Dumont Hospital with her niece, Susan by her side.
Evelyn was born
in Hillsborough on August 17th, 1924 the daughter of
the late Leroy and Gertrude
(Beaumont) Terris.
Evelyn was retired from the Federal Government as a civil
servant. She was a faithful member of the Valley Baptist
Church. She enjoyed working with children and was
instrumental in youth groups, Pioneer Girls and
the Awana Program at the church. She was a
lifetime member of the WMS. She was a member of
the Hillsborough Seniors Group. She will be
remembered for her proper etiquette and
having things done in a certain way. She also loved to have
fun and enjoyed going on bus tours with her family and
friends. She was one those people you could count on if
anyone needed anything and was always willing to help. Her
unwavering faith was an example to many. Evelyn did not have
any children of her own but had a very special place in her heart for
her nieces and nephews. She was most definitely one of the favourite
aunts. Evelyn felt blessed to have had a close relationship
with her niece, Susan she was there for her when she needed anything
over the years. The bond between them was strong and Susan
was like a daughter to her. Evelyn had a good life
and was ready to go to her eternal home. She is now hearing
the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant" and
walking the streets of gold beside her beloved
Saviour.
Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. She was predeceased by her first husband, Benedict
Joseph McKinley, and second husband, Harry Douglas Steeves;
