Gerald Everett Stuart

1940-2019

Gerald Everett Stuart
Gerald Stuart, 78, of Midway, passed away on January 11th, 2019 at the Moncton City Hospital with his family by his side.

Gerald was born on October 23rd, 1940 the son of the late Howard and Pearl (Brewster) Stuart.

He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church and an active volunteer and past director of the Albert County Exhibition. Gerald had multiple jobs over the years from working in the woods, logging, and working with the Department of Transportation until his retirement.  He had a lifelong passion for farming and was very content with his family farm in Midway. Even after downsizing his farm Gerald continued to help his neighbour with his haying. He taught his children to appreciate the hard work and dedication farming entails and encouraged their involvement with the 4H program. His grandchildren and great grandchildren also carried on some of his traits and gave each animal on the farm a special name. Although he didn't like to show his emotions they all knew he was there when they needed him, his love for them was strong.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Donna (McNaught) Stuart; his children Lisa Parsons (Tom) of Beaverbrook, Terri Stuart (Stephen) of Riverview, Wendi Stuart of Waterside, and Steven Stuart (Norma Dawn) of Midway; his cherished grandchildren Nikki (Robb), Robin (Matt), Jared, Zackery, Taylor, Lee, Sadie, and Scottlyn; treasured great grandchildren Owen, Wyatt, Liam, William, and Walker; brother Vaughn Stuart (Carol) of Guelph, ON. He will also be missed by his in-laws, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Scott; great grandson; brother Charles (Vivian).

He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday from 6-9pm. There will be a Prayer Vigil and a time of sharing memories at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at 11:00am at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Father Charles Broderick officiating. Interment will be held at the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
