Walter A. Steeves

1934-2018

Walter A. Steeves

Walter A. Steeves, 84, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on October 30th, 2018 at the Fundy Royal Manor with his family by his side.

Walter was born in Hillsborough on January 15th, 1934 the son of the late John and Sarah Steeves.

Walter worked for several years at the Moncton Hospital as an orderly until his retirement.  His specialty was making casts and he worked in the old out patience department.   He really enjoyed working at the hospital, he met and got to know many people.   He was a member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church.  Walter loved his home in Hillsborough and moved not far from the homestead where he grew up and made lasting memories.  He met and married the love of his life, Phyllis and together they raised their family with love.  Walter had a willingness to help others and would do anything needed with a smile.  It is hard to say goodbye, but he is now having a beautiful reunion in Heaven with all his loved ones that have gone before him.  "Until we meet again."

He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Brenda Steeves of Moncton and Holly Ward (Randy)of Hillsborough; son, Bernie Steeves (Pearl) of Hillsborough; his treasured grandchildren, Kristin, Stephanie, Chelsey, Mark and Jennifer; and precious great grandsons, Jaxon and Ayden.  He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.  Walter was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Phyllis (Fullerton) Steeves; granddaughter, Vanessa; sisters, Florence, Laura and Helen; brothers, Earl, George, Carl and Charles.

The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on  Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at 2:00pm.  There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:00-2:00pm.  Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
