Hilton Stewart Butland

Hilton Stewart Butland passed away peacefully at Forest Dale Home on Sunday June 3, 2018.                                   

Born December 24, 1932 in Alma N.B. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Ruth(Cahill) Butland. He was a graduate of Alma Superior School and Technical School in Moncton. He was employed as a Motor Mechanic , Welder, Truck Driver, Television Repair and was a Scope Watcher at the Decca station in Alma. He retired as an Electronics Specialty Supervisor from the Moncton Airport in 1993. His leisure time was spent in his work shop woodworking. He also spent hours gardening, keeping his car in repair and watching hockey.

 He was a loyal and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Helen(Alcorn) Butland of 65 years. One son Sheldon Butland(Shawna) of Riverview. Three daughters Wendy Turpin(Garry) of Moncton Carol Bezanson(John) of Oromocto and Jennifer Steeves(Todd) of Ottawa. Seven loving grandchildren, David, Steven, Paul, Mark, Christine, Michael and Sara. Three step-grandchildren Kortnie, Meaghan and Sherilynn. Four precious great grandchildren Cameron, Ashton, Preston and Jack.  Three step-great grandchildren Landon, Blake and Jake.  One brother Russell of Alma and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by half brother Lloyd and brothers Eldon and Melvin. 

In honouring Hilton's own wishes there will be no visitation.  The Funeral Service and Celebration of his Life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments in the funeral home reception area.  Interment will be in the Alma United Cemetery, Alma, NB.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff and residents of Forest Dale Home for making our family feel comfortable and part of the Forest Dale family.  All the kindness shown and the great care given will never be forgotten.
