Jennie Arene Ward

1924-2017

Jennie Arene Ward

Jennie Arene Ward, 93, of Fundy Royal Manor, Hillsborough passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2017 at the home with her family by her side.

Jennie was born in Johnson Mills on January 18th, 1924 the daughter of the late Gordon and Mary (Read) Babcock.  Throughout her life, she worked at T.Eaton & Company, the Metropolitan Company, Spencer's Memorial Home and also was a Homemaker.  She was a member of the Hillsborough United Church and belonged to the United Church Women.  When she lived at home she always had a beautiful garden which she was very proud of and many people would stop and comment about it. Jennie belonged to the Senior Citizen's Club and enjoyed fun times spent with her friends over the years. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, playing cards and in her later years doing her word puzzles.   Jennie will be remembered for her great smile and always willing to help whenever needed,  Her generous heart will never be forgotten.  We were blessed to have her in our lives and it is never easy but she is now at peace and where she wanted to be.  We are sure she is hearing "Well done my good and faithful servant".
Mom until we meet again, may God hold you in the palms of his hands and we will hold you in our hearts.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gwen Steeves (Douglas) of Weldon; son, Randy Ward (Holly) of Hillsborough; grandchildren,Todd Steeves (Margie) of Weldon, Tracy Cooke (Jeff) of Hillsborough,  Kristin Best (Chris) of Hillsborough and Stephanie Ward of Moncton; by her precious great-grandchildren, Alisha (Stephen), Mitchell, Dawson, Jared, Jaxson and Ayden; great-great grandson, Easton. She will also be missed by her close friends, Nerenne Russell and Anne Simpson.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy and by a son Dale.

Honouring Jennie's own wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private family graveside service will be held in the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating.
