Marilyn Louise Porter

Marilyn Louise Porter (Nana), 75, of Germantown entered into eternal peace on September 13, 2017.  She passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Riverside NB on March 31, 1942   Germantown, NB the daughter of the late Charles and Dora (Rossiter) Brewster.

 Marilyn lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as: chatting with friends and family, spending time with her grandchildren, camping, travelling, gardening, baking and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family and friends. Baptist by faith and a proud graduate of Riverside Consolidated School. She remained a brave iron willed woman throughout her life.

 Marilyn was the beloved wife, best friend and soulmate to her husband of 56 years, Esmond Porter. Also survived by adoring son Philip Porter (Barb) and devoted daughter Pam Porter (Dominique).

 Her most prized possessions were her grandchildren – Denise, Melanie and Danny Porter and Annabelle Porter Audet. She will live in their hearts forever.

 Cherished by her loving sisters: Mildred Leblanc of Shemogue NB, Evelyn Howard of Penobsquis NB, Lois Killam of Windsor ON and half sister Jean Butland of Waterside NB.  Brothers Clarke Brewster (Jeanette) of Harvey NB and Richard Brewster (Karen) of Oshawa ON. She will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her cat Bubbles who rarely left her side.

 In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Clyde Brewster of Blackstock ON, one half sister Pearl Stuart and three half brothers Arthur, Leonard and Donald Brewster.

 She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday evening from 7-9pm.  The Funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, September 17th, 2017  at 1:00pm with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating, followed by a time to visit, reminisce, grieve, support one another, and of course just chat.  Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Extra Mural Driscoll Unit or the charity of donor’s choice.

 Marilyn and her family would like to thank Dr. James Stewart and Debbie for all their care and kindness.  The family would also like to express their incredible gratitude to the Extra Mural team, especially Barb Horsman, Lynn, Suzanne, Daniel and Cathy.  With your help we were proudly able to fulfill Marilyn’s final wishes.
