Jerome "Jerry" Harold Worth

1940-2016

Jerome "Jerry" Harold Worth
Jerome "Jerry" Harold Worth
Jerome "Jerry" Worth, 76, of New Horton passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2016  after a chronic illness with his loving family by his side.

Jerry was born in Guysborough, NS on June 9th, 1940 the son of the late Harold and Jean (Munroe) Worth.  As a young man he moved to Ontario, where he managed at Ship Master Corrugated for many years.  Wanting to reconnect with his Maritime roots, he and his family moved to New Horton, New Brunswick.  Jerry worked along side his son, Jerome, in construction.  As well as building his own home, he and his wife built and operated Captains Lookout Cottages.  Leading up to his retirement he worked at Hopewell Rocks.  He loved being able to share a story and a laugh with everyone he met.  He cherished and loved spending time with his family and was proud of all of their accomplishments.  His grandchildren and great grand children brought great joy to his life.  Jerry showed his family how to be humble and kind by the way he treated others.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing and being outdoors.  He had a great sense of humour and will be remembered for his storytelling and jokes.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Dannean " Danny" (Bothman) Worth; treasured children, Darlene Worth of Hopewell Cape, Jerome Worth (Nancy) of Hillsborough, Shari Melanson (Charlie) of Moncton, Kim Schizas (Kirk) of Ontario and Tracey O'Hara of Harvey; his cherished grandchildren, Robby, Tiffany, Brandon, Joshua, Justin, Benjamin, Andrew, Ashley, Alicia, Katie, Haley and Joe; his precious 7 great grandchildren; brother, Emmett and sisters, Marie, Brenda and Vera.  He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and many friends he made over the years.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by son-in-law, Andy O'Hara; grandson, James; brothers, Donald, Nelson and Jim; sisters, Pauline, Joan and Barb.

Honoring his own wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Knowing Jerry's big heart the family would appreciate a random act of kindness or a donation to Carma Riverside Albert or local charities to  honour his memory.
