Lorne Steven Nelson

1949-2016

Lorne Steven Nelson

Lorne Steven Nelson, 66, of Baltimore, passed away on August 20,2016 at the Moncton Hospital with his mother by his side.

Lorne was born at the Riverside Hospital on December 6th, 1949, the son of the late Elmo (2010) and Mary (Steeves) Nelson. Lorne was a  Hobby Farmer and had a love for all animals and the outdoors. He was a cowboy at heart and loved his pony Chipper. Over the years he took care of other horses as well. His trips to visit family in Western Canada brought to life his love of all things Western. He rose early for years to milk the cow. There was always a dog in the house for him to take care of as well. He was responsible for doing many of the tasks around the house, such as stacking wood and starting the fire on cold winter nights. For many years, he walked on his road everyday smiling and waving at the neighbours who passed him. He had a glint in his eye while saying things to make you laugh and easily found the humorous things in life. Lorne had a special place in his heart for all his family. He had a simple love for God and enjoyed listening and talking about Heaven. He knew where he was going and looked forward to all that Heaven would be.

He will be missed by his mother Mary; cousin Kathy Nutford (John) and their children, Rachel and her daughter Kari, Leigh-Ann Fenton (Logan), and Stephen who lived and grew up with Lorne for the past 16 years in Baltimore; Aunt and Uncle Don and Thelma Steeves of Saint John; cousin Michael Steeves (Bernadine, children Julianne and Evan) of Saint John, cousin Gaye (David Kurtz) and their family of Saskatchewan, and cousins Claire, Yvonne, and Bill Nelson all of Ottawa.

He was predeceased by father, Elmo in 2010; sister Carolyn "Lyn" in 2013.

He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11:00am with Pastor David Ross officiating. Interment will be held in the Baltimore Cemetery, Baltimore, NB.
