Reta May Hopper, 94, of Orchard View Nursing Home, Village of Gagetown and formerly of Alma, passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2016 at her residence.
 
Reta was born in Alma on May 27th, 1921 the daughter of the late Roy and Clara (Rossiter) Conner.  She was an active member of the Alma Baptist Church when she lived in Alma.   She was a homemaker and loved raising her family.  Reta was very community minded, she was a member of the Alma Seniors, Shepody Lioness, Loyal True Blue Lodge and the Albert Hospital Auxiliary.  She was a dedicated volunteer and was very proud of her Award of Merit for Volunteering presented by the Province of NB. She was also honored with the Maritimer of the Week.   She had a strength and kindness about her and was always willing to help others in need.   She had a real zest for life and loved to laugh and have a great time.  Her grandchildren always enjoyed playing a game of cards or crib with their Nanny.  She will always be remembered for her ability to make everyone feel comfortable and at home. She was a great lady who will never be forgotten.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Marjorie Campbell (Jack) of Montague, PE and Ella Brown (Douglas) of Fredericton; sons, Arnold Hopper (Cecile) of Hampton and Edmund Hopper (Amanda) of Fredericton; her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Reta was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
 
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clyde; her sisters, Marjorie and Clara; brother, Borden.
 
The family will be meeting with relatives and friends for a time of visitation and sharing of memories at the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 pm.  A graveside service will follow at 4:00pm in the Alma Baptist Cemetery, Alma, NB with Pastor Danny Steeves officiating.
 
Donations to the Alzheimer's Society, MS Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
