Neil Horace Arthurs
1945-2015
Neil Horace Arthurs, better known to his family as
"Butch" of Shenstone New Brunswick passed
away at the age of 69 on the 28 of November 2015
at the Moncton Hospital after a short
illness.
Neil was born in Victoria British Columbia December
10 1945 and grew up in logging camps on Vancouver Island with
his parents Norma and Horace Arthurs. He followed in his Dad's
footsteps to become a Heavy Equipment mechanic. Always being very
artistic he became a noted songwriter and country singer with several
records and awards to his name. His songs were recorded in
Nashville. He spent several years touring as a singer but
lure of the forests caused his return to British Columbia and the
logging industry where he remained until his retirement. A new chapter
in his live brought him to New Brunswick where he has resided for over
six years. Neil will be remembered for his wild sense of
humor and most recently as a talented artist and
painter.
Neil is survived by 7 children and several grandchildren,
Sisters Dot and Ev and their families, his very special friend Cathy
Palmer and his furry friend Annie the Cat.
He was Predeceased by his parents and younger sister
Judy.
Neil will dearly missed by his family, his special
Hillsborough friends, the owner and staff at The Railway
Diner which became his second home over the last few
months and his many other friends across the
country.
At Neil's request, there will be no visitation
or funeral service.
